From Diggle we walk back up to the Pennine Way at Standedge. The Way goes across the moors dodging between reservoirs; Brun Clough, Black Moss, Wessenden and Wessenden Head reservoirs before reaching the A635

Then 2 long stiff climbs on boggy terrain. The first is Black Hill before a long descent to Crowden. Then a walk along Torside Reservoir before the second peaty ascent to Bleaklow. Descending from Bleaklow Head just before the Snake Pass is the Doctor's Gate, a path which will take us down to Glossop.
