
JOGLE Day 49 Charlestown to Diggle
After crossing the Callis Bridge over the Rochdale Canal we climb, first steeply, upĀ for about 300m to Stoodley Pike with 125 foot iconic tower (pike). From then on we remain high on the Pennines walking over undulating peaks
First round 4 reservoirs, Warland, Light Hazzles, White Holme and Blackstone Edge to reach the A58
Then past the ancient Aggin StoneĀ and up over Robin Hood's Bed before crossing M62.
A short distance to the A672. Then up White Hill and it's trig point and on to the A640.
Beyond the path runs on top of an escapement and on to Standedge on A62. Here we leave the Pennine Way to walk 1.5 miles down the hill to Diggle.
