Walk from Bardon Mill on roads and path to Rapishaw Gap where we left the Pennine Way  on day 37.

We now walk with Hadrian's Wall Path on Hadrian's Wall for the day. A little taster that might make you wish to do it all one day. We pass Sycamore Gap sadly now with no Sycamore tree. We go passed Aesica Roman Fort, where I recommend a short diversion to the altar stone sometimes laden with coin offerings. Just off route is the Roman Army Museum (Have we got time to go in?). We also pass Thirlwall Castle. I end in Longbyre just off route, rather than Greenhead itself which is arguably further off route.

I think the main pleasure is seeing the wall going up and down over the hilly ridge. A splendid day
