High Barnet to Ally Pally Linear Walk
This is a linear walk of approximately 11 miles from High Barnet to Alexandra Palace, using the Dollis Valley Green Walk and Capital Ring paths, with only a small amount of urban street walking.
The route includes choices, one of which is an ealy bath at the 7-mile mark.
Bring packed lunch, water and something to sit on.
Wear sturdy boots. Expect mud and water (especially if it has rained in the preceding two days).
Car parking is available at the start point. Either buses or taxi are the best methods of returning to the start point, for which planning is essential (especially if you haven't used a London bus since the mid-2010s). Suggestions are in the full members' only sections below, but you must make your own plans accordingly.
Toilet stops are limited on the route. There are toilets at the start point for those arriving by tube.
Optional pub stops exist at both the 7-mile mark and the end of the walk. Not that we are suggesting a pub crawl. If you fancy an early dinner, the pub stop at the end of walk does have a very delicious menu to look at, and likely will be serving food all day.
