12Sep2026 Brookmans Park, circular 9 miles
9-mile circular walk starts in Brookmans Park, then passes through Little Heath, towards Northaw, through the outskirts of Cuffley, before heading back to Brookmans Park via Bell Bar and North Mymms.
You can expect trees, some nice views, an arch with no obvious purpose, a couple of busy roads, more trees, even more trees, a couple of brooks, a couple of churcheque remains of the unremarkable WWII Tett turret at Bell Bar, plenty of farmland and more trees! Oh, and houses that are posh!
Most of the walk is on traffic free country paths (some shared with horse riders and cyclists). The remainder is on roads, mostly with verges or pavements. These may be uneven, stony, grassy, or muddy in places.
This is a moderate walk with some uphill sections. Walking boots/shoes with good grip are recommended. Whilst many of the paths are well managed (and drained) some may be slippery and/or muddy in places if there has been recent rain.
Drink (water) is essential, a packed lunch and something to sit on is recommended. This is a largely rural walk and there will not be an opportunity to buy food or drinks on route.
Optional pub stop at the end of the walk.
The start point is accessible by public transport.
