Gritty Metroland and Pretty Metroland
A point-to-point walk of 9.87 miles in suburbia (Metroland!) and urban countryside. Includes Cassiobury Park and Whippendell Wood (as mentioned once in EastEnders by Johnny and Nancy Carter, who said they used to play there!), disused railway (The Ebury Way), nature reserves, woodlands, Grand Union Canal and Croxley Green. There are noticeable gradients in this walk.
Terrain includes pavement, footpath, bridleway, track and woodland.
Wear sturdy boots. Bring packed lunch and something to sit on.
Optional pub stop at end of walk. For those who will have driven to this event and prefer not to visit the pub, there are alternative routes back to the start point: details are included in the members-only section of this event.
Return to start point is by public transport.
Full details are available to members only
