Glamorgan Heritage Coast Walk
The annual circular walk along the cliffs and beaches of this spectacular Jurassic coast overlooking the Bristol Channel.
Of around 7 miles, the walk leads from St Donat's, along the Wales Coast Path past Atlantic College to Nash Point and its lighthouse, initially climbing through a wood, and then along the cliffs on the Wales Coast Path. We will then descend to the beach at Traeth Mawr for lunch, and a swim for those who would like to, and then return along the coast, under the magnificent cliffs, before climbing back up to the Wales Coast Path and eventually back to the start point.
Bring lunch and fluids, and a towel if you want to go swimming. We will visit the cafe near the lighthouse on the way to the beach and on the way back.
Note, that the beach is made up of sand and patches of limestone pavement. The limestone is difficult to cross underfoot in places, as it is of odd shapes and sizes shaped by the tide, but is passable with care. There are a few short climbs along the way and just a few stiles.
