Event Details

An opportunity to indulge in the type of retail therapy that gardeners like!

This visit can be combined with our afternoon visit to  'Tulip Mania' at nearby Dyrham Park, but no obligation to do so.

This nursery and garden has been recommended by one of our members, and we are being allowed special access to the garden, which is not usually open on Saturdays. They grow and sell unusual plants from all over the world including hardy herbaceous and rockery plants as well as many tender perennials for terrace and conservatory. The owner, Derry Watkins, author of two books on greenhouse gardening has introduced many new plants from her plant collecting trips to South Africa and elsewhere.

The garden is an architect-designed ¾ acre hillside garden with stunning views. and includes exotic plants,  gravel gardens for borderline hardy plants, a bog garden, woodland walk. Allium alley. It was featured on Gardener's World - see a clip here and you can read more about it here. It also opens for the National Garden Scheme and you can see more details here.

Whilst there will be no charge to visit the garden, a voluntary charity donation would be welcomed.
