Cancelled - Edale Aircraft Wreck Walk - approx 7 miles
A shortish but rough walk from Edale railway station onto 'The Kinder Plateaux' to visit one of the many WWII aircraft wreck sites to acknowledge Remembrance Day 2023 (well, nearly): On 5th Oct 1943 RAF Halifax bomber from 51 Squadron was flying back from a mission to Frankfurt, crashed on Blackden Edge. Two crew member survived.
We will ascent via Ringing Roger (mild, avoidable scramble), search for the wreckage on the Halifax bomber, have lunch at Madwoman Stones.
