Moderate west-east cycle ride from Lingfield to Hildenborough on the border of Kent and East Sussex.

The distance is approximately 25km and the route, while not completely flat, avoids the steeper hills of the North Downs and therefore ranks as moderate. However, we will never be very far from the railway line that runs from Redhill to Tonbridge, so there will be the opportunity to drop out part way.

The route, mainly along minor roads, will take us from Lingfield initially south east through Dormanstand, then east to Cowden. We will then pass through the attractive village of Chiddingtone, with the possibility of a diversion to Penshurst, with its stately home and garden, or Hever, with its castle, before continuing to the end of the ride at Hildenborough. Those with energy to spare could continue either to Tonbridge or Sevenoaks.

Numbers on this event are limited to 12 to avoid overcrowding on the trains. Although there is no cost, you must book to attend.
