From our start point there is a short stretch of road walking before joining the historic drovers' route known as the Hambleton Road which we follow up hill before levelling out and passing the old Chequers Inn. We continue to Square Corner where we drop down on the Cleveland Way passing 2 small dams before returning to Osmotherley and Codbeck
