Coach Trip to Levens Hall, Gardens and Deer Park
Coach trip to Levens Hall and gardens with option of three-mile walk in the deer park.
Levens Hall is the finest Elizabethan house in Cumbria, set in extensive grounds.
On arrival at the Hall we start the day with an easy three-mile walk in the deer park which, whilst optional, is well worth the effort. The route is through exquisite countryside above the beautiful River Kent and along country lanes to cross the river at Force Bridge waterfalls. Our return is also through the deer park, but on the opposite side of the river.
We will return to the Hall in time for lunch in the tearoom, or you could bring your own.
In the afternoon there will be plenty of time to explore the hall and gardens. The hall has a fine collection of Jacobean furniture, leather wall coverings, links to the Duke of Wellington and three ghosts. The gardens are spectacular and include the world-famous 17th century topiary garden.
Numbers on this trip are limited to 24.
