
Chinley to South Head & Mount Famine, Derbyshire
A 9 mile circular walk from Chinley following trackways close to the hills of South Head and Mount Famine in the High Peak. There are excellent views to Kinder Scout and the surrounding area on a fine day. We descend in the direction of Hayfield before following an attractive path up Foxholes Clough and then along Throstle Bank to return to our starting point.
Equipment: walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, sun hat, suncream. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used.
Dogs: It is essential that dogs are kept on a short lead in the vicinity of livestock and and they should be under close control near other people. The owner is responsible for performing any lifting that may be required over stiles.
