NOTE DATE A circular walk of approx. 7 miles starting near Boxgrove Priory and taking in Halnaker Windmill and part of Stane Street, the Roman Road from Chichester to London.

A varied walk along mainly good paths and tracks with muddy sections in wet weather. There is a short climb up to Halnaker Windmill but most sections are fairly level across fields, alongside vineyards and through woodland. The Priory ruins and nearby church are worth a visit at the end of the walk.

Bring a packed lunch and drinks for the walk. Wear clothes appropriate for the weather and terrain. Note that some paths on the route are narrow with nettles and brambles on either side so consider wearing long trousers. Dogs are welcome if kept on leads whenever near livestock, on roads or if requested by the walk leaders. New members are always welcome.
