TerrainThis will be a reasonably demanding walk compared to a canal or city walk. Please note that the walk is very exposed in places and it could be cold and windy, so please bring of suitable clothing, including warm layers and a water/windproof jacket, gloves, and good walking shoes or, better, boots. There will be a number of steep inclines and conditions may well be muddy and slippery.

This is a circular Winter's walk of around 11 miles in the beautiful Chiltern Hills of Hertfordshire, only 45 minutes by train from London. The walk will this month take place on Saturday, to enable a joint walk with our neighbours in GOC Hertfordshire group.

This route includes an exhilarating ridge walk up to Ivinghoe Beacon, with excellent views over the Aylesbury plain, as well as much attractive mature woodland in the National Trust Ashridge Estate.
