A circular walk from Chaddleworth exploring the Berkshire Downs and Lambourn valley
This will be a 7 mile circular walk starting in the picturesque village of Chaddleworth in west Berkshire. We pass by the mainly Norman church of St Andrews and head across paddocks. We cross a couple of unusual styles and skirt the West Berkshire Golf Club with its immaculate greens. Thereafter we head downhill across fields and open countryside looking out towards Great Shefford. Skylarks can sometimes be heard as they twist and turn above the fields. On a clear day the views can be spectacular. Our walk then skirts the village of Great Shefford as we head along the Lambourn valley towards Elton Farm where we turn left and head back to Chaddleworth and the Ibix Inn passing RAF Welford and again the West Berkshire Golf Club.
