Cilgerran to Cenarth – linear walk
This is a linear walk from Cilgerran to Cenarth following the river Teifi.
The terrain is mainly level with just a couple of hilly stretches. We will be walking on a footpath and quiet country lanes. Only the last 1/2 mile or so is on a B road.
From Cilgerran we follow the footpath along the banks of the river Teifi, through Cilgerran Gorge, past the old slate quarries until we get to Llechryd bridge.
Here we join a country lane which runs roughly parallel to the river bringing us to St. David's church, Manordeifi. The lane then continues to picturesque Abercych.
Here we cross the Afon Cych via a footbridge and follow a footpath uphill through wooded country to Penlan Farm and down to the hamlet of Glandwr.
From there it is just 1/2 mile along the B4332 back to the car park in Cenarth.
There we should be able to get refreshments at Ty Te Cenarth before driving back to Cilgerran to pick up the remaining cars.
