Jubilee Tower - a walk from the campus

This is a 10 mile walk, starting from the university campus to Jubilee Tower, that uses field footpaths and some quiet country lanes to make a circular walk.  Jubilee Tower is a folly built in 1887 by James Harrison - a wealthy Liverpool shipbuilder who lived in Hare Appletree (which we pass through on this walk), near Quernmore to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria.  The tower has a flight of steps up one side and you get a good view from the top of Morecambe Bay and the Bowland fells.

This is quite a challenging walk mostly on farmland, across fields and many many many styles.  There are also some stepping stones. Its a gradual climb all the way up to Jubilee Tower, then a gradual descent all the way back to the campus.

10 miles (16km) 873 ft (270m) of ascent.

This is a walk predominantly through farmland.  Dogs will not be permitted.

This walk is limited to 15 because of the distance number of styles to cross on the walk.
