Lancaster Canal and Glasson Dock

This is a 10 mile walk, starting from the university campus to Glasson Dock, that uses the towpaths of the Lancaster canal, quiet lanes and field paths. There are a couple of short gradual climbs and descents, but overall its pretty much pan flat.  We cross the busy A6 with care to join country lanes to the Lancaster Canal. Field paths take us to The Stork Inn at Condor Green where we join the old Glasson Dock branch railway line (now a walking and cycle path) to Glasson Dock and its Marina.  There is a café here and a tea/butty van popular with bikers if you need refreshments. Return is made by the towpath of the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal, Galgate and paths back to the campus.
