Drover’s Way from Winslow to Salden Chase and roundabout back

Event Details

This walk runs along the old cattle Drover's Way that was used to walk livestock to Smithfield from Oxfordshire farms, walking east from Winslow towards Bletchley railway station. It's a long wide track that runs along the ridge between the two, and has nice views across open countryside. It's flat and easy to walk. The outbound route loops through pretty village of Little Harwood, along country tracks, through bluebell woodland. Each year, the Milton Keynes and Bucks group run a longer walk, and this is it. It will less than 11 miles.
This is a last chance before the opening of East West Rail for us to walk this historic walk through great countryside before the noisy trains run. There is one iffy stile but it's mostly stile free (only six on the way).

If you want to join for lunch, it will be on the veranda at the sports  club behind St Nicholas' Church in Little Horwood (MK17 0PF) sometime around 12:30 to13:30.

There will be a café or pub stop at the end in or near Winslow. Details to follow.
