Furness Peninsula – Bardsea coast, Birkrigg Common, Great Urswick, and Aldingham - NEW DATE DUE TO BAD WEATHER
A varied walk on the eastern side of the Furness Peninsula, through woods, on commonland, and through fields, lanes, and double-hedged footpaths, and along the coast. The "baby" stone circle on Birkrigg Common is beautiful and interesting, as is the church in Great Urswick; the village itself situated around the northern and western circumference of its central tarn. The coastal section of the walk also passes through the hamlet of Aldingham, with its pretty coastal 12th century church.
