Ferryside, Carmarthenshire
7.5 mile (approx. ) moderate walk around Ferryside including up to the hill top village of Llansaint.
We start off from Ferryside with an ascent through fields up to Llansaint, a quaint village where the cockle pickers
lived.
It has a lovely church where we will have lunch.
From here we will get great views down to the Carmarthenshire coastline, over to Gower and across to pretty Llansteffan.
We then descend down to the vast Carmarthen Bay caravan park where we proceed onto sand dunes and to the area of St Ishmael with another lovely church.
We then walk for a short time on a lane before accessing the beach for the last bit of the walk back to Ferryside.
The walk will be on good paths, fields and/or minor roads but can be wet and muddy.
There are a few stiles.
NB: I might do the walk the other way around to the description above, on the day, as high tide is at 4 45pm so if we walk on the beach it will be at the beginning of the walk. If weather is wet or windy we will walk slightly further inland.
