Mainly off-road on well maintained cycles tracks we meet on an industrial estate near the river Dee, which is easily accessible from the main A494 road to Wales.  The plan is to cycle the Wirral Way towards West Kirby, taking in the bird reserve at Burton Mere Wetlands and historic Parkgate, which used to be the main port to Ireland before it silted up in the early 19th century.   This return trip is about 26 miles. Depending on what time we arrive back at the cars, there is an option, only for those who wish, to carry on to visit Chester - which would add about another 20 miles return trip.

So the ride will be of the order of 26 (0r 46 miles for the hardy ones) depending on the weather and how fit we feel on the day, but all very flat and pretty stress free, being mainly away from motor vehicles.

Bring a packed lunch.  Tea and snacks should be available at cafes on route.
