St Fagans museum Cardiff
St Fagans is always worth a visit.
The museum stands in the grounds of the magnificent St Fagans Castle and gardens, a late 16th-century manor house donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth in 1948.
Since 1948 over forty original buildings from different historical periods have been re-erected in the 100-acre parkland, among them houses, a farm, a school, a chapel and a splendid Workmen's Institute.
There is an LGBT+ exhibition there until March 2023.
Also one on Terrence Higgins until 19th March.
Born in Pembrokeshire in 1945, Terrence Higgins was one of the first people in the UK to die of an AIDS-related illness in 1982.
To mark the 40th anniversary of his death, this display highlights a newly acquired portrait of Terrence Higgins that was created by artist Nathan Wyburn. Displayed alongside the portrait is the original plaque from the memorial tree that commemorates the people who have died from AIDS in Wales.
We can all go to see the exhibition and then explore the grounds
together or feel free to split up and do your own thing.
We could meet up again in the cafe for a cuppa and/or lunch.
We'll make arrangements on the day.
If you've never been there, whet your appetite here.
