Richmond Circular
The walk will be led by Juliette and Sarah.
We meet in central Richmond.
We then walk by the Richmond cricket ground and have a short, sharp ascent up to Low Moor, the old Richmond Racecourse. We cross the moor and circuit back up to the Beacon (319m and the highest point of the walk). After enjoying the views from the Beacon we’ll then head down to the River Swale.
We cross the river and will walk through Roundhowe & Hudswell Woods owned by the National Trust. The walk along the river is mainly flat, although parts can be slippery when wet. We cross back over the river before a final steep ascent into the town. We can finish for a festive drink at the Town Hall Hotel.
