
Challenge: Wendover and the Chilterns AONB 13 miles
This will be a full day 13 mile circular 'endurance' challenge.

The Chiltern Hills were designated as an AONB in 1965. They are rich in wildlife, ranging from red kites to Duke of Burgundy butterflies. Habitats include endangered chalk grassland, farmland and many acres of woodlands (dominated by beech trees.) Some magnificent vistas of the Vale of Aylesbury and several incredible properties including the PM country estate "Chequers."
Minimum 130 metres to 260 metres. Total ascent approx. 800 metres
Wendover is a popular market town due to being located at the base of the Northern Chilterns which makes making it a popular town for walkers, cyclists and adventurous individuals.
There are some challenging hill climbs especially from outset to Coombe Hill. An for the more adventurous an opportunity to reach summit of Beacon Hill (optional). The route was adjusted to provide more shade under the tree canopy's.
Lunch will be either atop Whyteleaf Hill or Brush Hill (shade available under the trees. (approx. 5 miles)
