Nidderdale Way Pateley Bridge and Low Laithe
We walk along the Nidderdale Way North, crossing the disused railway line to Harrogate, walking close to the river Nidd, we cross the river just south of Glasshouses. Then onward to Pateley Bridge for a lunch stop. There is a great Chippy in Pateley Bridge where we can get some Fish and Chips for lunch, arrangements to be confirmed nearer the time, otherwise you will need to bring a packed lunch.
After lunch we head up the High Street and gradually descend back to the river. We retrace our steps to where we crossed the river but now carry on to Laithe, heading up to Braisty Woods a historic spring wood with far reaching views. Onward to arrive in Summerbridge, carrying on south back to our starting point.
We can now have a Christmas drink in the Royal Oak followed by mince pies in the car park or Back to Allan’s our walk leader for cake, a brew and a few crackers.
You will need to bring walking boots and wet weather clothing.
