On a gorgeous sunny day 12 of us relaxed on a 'there and back again' walk on the river Beaulieu between the attractive village of Beaulieu and the historic Bucklers Hard famed for it's historic ship building. On the way we passed Gipsy Moth IV. Sir Francis Chichester started his historic solo trip around the world more than 50 years ago from Beaulieu River.
At Bucklers Hard we stepped back in time through the door of a worker's cottage to the 18th Century to find about the home life of the villages. The village school is now a quaint chapel seating 40 people. After a light snack lunch it was a gentle stroll back to Beaulieu village for a welcome cup of tea.
