We had a good turnout of ten members for a mid week walk.
Nine were from Devon and one from Dorset. The weather was kind with plenty of sunshine but also some cooling sea breezes.
We walked across Mutters Moor, a pebbled heathland, and saw plenty of heather and some gorse in flower. We could look across to Woodbury Common and the iron age hill fort of Woodbury Castle.
After a tea break which gave us views of Sidmouth, we continued on to Ladram Bay where we had lunch. We saw the evidence of some dramatic recent cliff falls.
On the return leg some of us rested below the neolithic hill fort of High Peak while others made the short but very steep climb up to the superb viewpoint.
Apologies the walk turned out to be longer than advertised.
Many thanks to Alan for leading the walk!
