Ladram Bay and High Peak
We begin the walk on the East Devon Pebbled Heaths, a very rare natural habitat. We then walk down to Ladram Bay where we will have lunch.
After lunch we will climb up to High Peak, a hill inhabitated since Neolithic times (2000 BC). There is an optional very steep climb to the trig point and stunning view at the top. We then climb up to Peak Hill before returning to the start point.
On this walk there should be stunning views ( weather permitting) of the East Devon Heaths, the red sandstone cliffs, and Sidmouth. At Ladram Bay there are some stunning sea stacks.
The Caravan Park at Ladram Bay offers a shop, ice cream, a cafe and toilets. There is also a pebble beach for anyone who fancies a dip. Weather permitting we will have a slightly longer lunch break to make use of the facilities ( 45 minutes) but packed lunch is advised.
