S. Mids – Fawsley, Preston Capes & Everdon

On this Armistice day, 17 walkers took 2 minutes of reflection to honour the fallen before setting off on  a gentle circular walk from Fawsley, led by Andrew Walker. The route took in rolling South Northamptonshire countryside, passing through Preston Capes and Everdon, with wide views, easy gradients and a strong sense of history throughout. A pause was made at Preston Capes to visit the burial place of Norman St John-Stevas, Lord St John of Fawsley, and his civil partner Adrian Stanford. The walk concluded back in Fawsley, where Andrew generously provided a selection of delicious homemade cakes, before some of the group continued on to The Rose and Crown to round off a thoroughly sociable and enjoyable day.
