Nine members endured an exciting scramble up steep ascent to the west side of the Cheddar Gorge to enjoy splendid views across the Somerset Levels toward Glastonbury Tor and Brent Knoll and down into the Gorge itself. After walking the length of the west side of the Gorge, we descended into the Gorge itself, for the scramble up to the high level on east side for the trek in high wind and a brief sighting of goats. It was an exhilarating outing with glorious sunshine mitigating the high wind on our return south towards the town. We finished off with a pint at the River Side Inn. Thanks for Chris for devising and leading the walk, much appreciated.
