Thank you to Colin, Douglas, Brian, Stephen and of course Trevor 🐾 for a wonderful day yesterday as we explored Edinburgh’s Regent Terrace gardens.
Normally closed the public, these gorgeous private gardens hosted an open day yesterday for charity and welcomed people in to enjoy them.
The weather was very kind to us and we had a lovely picnic overlooking the gardens with good company and a background soundtrack of distant Easter Road football fans cheering!
A leisurely amble around brought us to some stunning vistas looking out to Arthur’s Seat, the Pentland Hills and over to Fife and East Lothian. As we explored Colin and Douglas shared their wealth of knowledge on trees, plants and flowers and Edinburgh history which was so interesting. And we even discovered a rare black ladybird!
After a wander down Regent Terrace to the Stones of Scotland and another break outside the Scottish Parliament the end of the day found us in the Kings Gallery Cafe, with a last cuppa and a handsome pupper who was looking forward to a nap.
Thank you again to Colin and the boys for making me feel very welcome on my first GOC trip. A fabulous day in beautiful company. Looking forward to my next one! ❤️
