Dorset Group 22Jun23: Studland Beach and Dunes

Two new members were welcomed to the group, meeting at the Sandbanks Ferry NT Carpark in glorious sunshine. We then set off through the upper Studland dunes following the well marked NT Purple Trail. This led us to the path leading to the naturist beach  and we followed the tideline to the NT Restaurant at Knoll Beach. After an early lunch we entered the much cooler woodland to visit a Hide with glorious views of Little Sea covered in water lilies and the associated wildlife. Returning to the main track at a post labelled B, the leader gave out detailed orienteering maps, divided the group into pairs and set everyone off to find and follow the prescribed route . Everyone successfully ended up together at post S and descended to the naturist beach for a sunbathe and refreshing skinny dip. Finally a walk along the beach brought us back to the start point.
