Dorset Group 20 Oct 22: Creech Heath

Very wet and windy weather greeted our band of 10 as we assembled on Creech Hill for our circuit via Corfe Castle so we retreated to the cafe at East Creech for early refreshments.

After a couple of hours the weather cleared so we attempted an alternative short stroll. Passing through the attractive hamlet of East Creech we traversed remote Creech Heath to spot numrous fungi and a herd of sika deer.

Emerging at the Blue Pool we circumvented this beauty spot to picnic in the depths of Norden Wood to the screeeching sounds of sika deer announcing man was in the forest. A final stroll through woodland glades peppered with autumnal sunshine returned us to the cafe.

A 'rain stopped play event' was averted and the planned walk postponed for a month.
