A dry but gloomy overcast December day greeted our band of 23 as we assembled in Poole town centre. We explored the old quarter with its impressive georgian buildings to emerge on the quay.
Following the quayside we spotted the full range of boats moored in the harbour from luxury yachts to fishing boats and pleasure craft. A stroll along the coast path provided far reaching views across Poole Harbour to Brownsea Island and distant Corfe Castle.
Diverting inland into Poole Park we circumvented the boating lake to reach the long pedestrian precinct with its many shops where we enjoyed a welcome pint.
Our short exploratory stroll was completed by a sumptuous xmas lunch at Ginali's Restaurant.
