Lincolnshire GOC was fortunate to be invited to have a stall today, 5 October 2022 at RAF Digby PRIDE, the first ever PRIDE Celebration at the base. This has undoubtedly established a mutually beneficial relationship between the RAF and GOC, with two permanent GOC displays now to be established at the base.

Prior to 2002 there were various horrific cases of staff being thrown out, and worse, after being  "outed", but since then gay staff have been allowed to serve. There's still a long way to go, but just the establishment of a regular Pride Celebration is significant progress. Today's event had a particular emphasis on educating staff to be allies of LGBTQIA+, and showed a definite desire on the behalf of the RAF to bring attitudes in the forces much more up to date.
