This walk explores part of the Weald, looking down to it for some time from the Greensand ridge.  It also passes through the parkland of Linton and Boughton Monchelsea, where the great house is set in a deer park.

Linton Park is a large 18th-century country house built by Robert Mann in 1730. The estate passed through the ownership of several members of Mann's family before coming into the Cornwallis family. The house sits in a prominent location, part way down a south-facing slope which provides excellent views of the grounds and the Weald beyond. The house is a Grade I listed building, the garden and park are listed Grade II. Linton Park is now the corporate headquarters of Camellia plc, an international agricultural company.

St Peter's Church at Boughton Monchelsea and the ancient lychgate are Grade II Listed. Built in 1470, the lychgate is one of the oldest in the country. It is formed of three oak-trussed frames with a straight pitched roof of clay peg tiles. It was the custom for the priest to conduct the first part of the funeral service under the shelter of the Saxon "corpse" gate.
