Trefil
An almost eight mile circular walk in and around Trefil, taking in a Bronze Age burial ground, the Naughty Stone viewing point and the Chartist Cave and returning via the Aneurin Bevan Heritage Trail passing the Duke of Beaufort’s picnic area.
After a more strenuous initial climb onto a ridge, the walk follows an otherwise mainly flat route with some gentle inclines. Expect some marshy terrain following recent rain, but good underfoot, if dry.
Good walking shoes or boots and suitable walking gear should be worn. A good walk for dogs, but dogs will need to be kept on leads in places where we may encounter wild horses, cattle or sheep.
