This is a circular steady walk with a break half way at the Red Lion. This walk includes the site of the Battle of Bossenden Wood. Which Barry Reay calls “The Last Rising of the Agricultural Labourers”. The event took place on 31 May 1838, when a group of agricultural labourers were confronted by the armed 45th Infantry Regiment, with a contingent of local gentry and constables.
