The John Muir Way - Dunbar to North Berwick
The John Muir Way
The John Muir Way is a long distance linear walking route across Scotland's central belt, running from Helenburgh on the west coast to Dunbar on the east. It is normally tackled in ten stages from the west to the east. The total distance is 134 miles. More details are available at http://johnmuirway.org/
The intention is to do a couple of sections of the walk each year. Being that the walk is low level and mostly flat, it is particularly suited to the winter months. We will be doing section 10 of the JM way in reverse, starting in Dunbar and finishing in North Berwick, a distance of about 15 miles (24km). Because of the distance I've set the grade to 'difficult', but the walk is flat using tracks, some tarmac lanes and fields so is straightforward. The walk can be cut short at East Linton (half way) by getting on a bus back to Dunbar or Edinburgh.
