The Eildon Hills
The Eildon Hills
Starting from the railway station at Tweedbank, we will walk along the River Tweed to Melrose and climb the Eildon Hills, the highest being Eildon Mid Hill (422meters, c1400 ft). There are options to climb all the hills in the group, but the climbs up Wester Eildon Hill can be avoided if desired. These are quite small hills by Scottish standards but the slopes are quite steep and Eildon Mid Hill is quite rocky in places with some scree on the ascent and descent. Paths can be muddy after rain.
About 10 miles, 5 to 6 hours walking
