Stroll Burnham-on-Sea (Supporting JOGLE Day 75) Four-Miles
Join our short and easy, four-mile stroll on the beach at Burnham-on-Sea to welcome our GOC JOGLERS to Somerset. We'll be walking north from Burham-on-Sea Pier to welcome the long-distance walkers on their epic trek south from John o' Groats to Lands End (the JOGLE). When the two groups meet, we'll turn round to join the south-bound walkers to complete our ramble back to the starting place. Please join us to support David on his epic trek in support of two charities and to mark the GOC's Fiftieth Year.
Our route is on firm sand with no climbing with splendid views west to Hinkley C, the Quantock Hills, Exmoor and South Wales. You will get a lot of fresh sea air and a bit of sunshine. The tide is going to be halfway out at 11:30 and fully out by about 3pm.
This is the sister walk of the John o' Groats to Lands End Day 75 arranged by David Stockwell, which you may like to join if you're up for the sixteen-mile trek from Weston-super-Mare to Burnham-on-Sea. Trains connect the two towns should you want to leave your car at the start or the finish of the day's JOGLE 75 walking.
GOC Somerset is running two walks concurrently today - a seven-miler from Highbridge (Ramble Burnham-on-Sea) and this one, a four-miler from Burnham Esplanade (Stroll Burnham-on-Sea). The two walks will combine on the beach at the Slipways.
