A delightful circular varied walk starting from Stratford upon Avon train station - the later start time of 11:30 is to accommodate train arrivals (Birmingham, Warwick etc).  A short walk  along the canal leads us to Stratford Canal Basin.

From here we will head out of Stratford walking the old Tramway, passing the new marina and joining the Shakespeare Avon Way path enjoying the tranquillity of the river and countryside.   We head further out joining the Greenway  which used to be the old Honeybourne Line which opened in 1859 and was the first railway line to reach Stratford upon Avon.  It is  good for spotting nature including farmland birds and wild flowers.  Further up the Greenway, we will have our lunch stop where an old railway carriage has been converted into a delightful café serving drinks and fresh food.  After lunch we walk along the river and join the Monarch Way.   We re-enter Stratford via the Holy Trinity Church (the burial place of a certain playwright and a curse) and the RSC Avonbank Gardens.
