A linear mainly flat walk starting in Winchester and walking through the town to the Railway Station, catching the train to Eastleigh before walking back to Winchester along the attractive River Itchen. We plan to stop for a meal towards the end of the walk at the Chef and Brewer Shawford Inn (Light lunches £9 to £11 approx). For those not wanting to stop for a meal and to return straight to their cars, easy instructions will be supplied to allow them to go ahead. The distance can be reduced by 1 mile by joining the walk in Eastleigh and returning by bus or car share

Nearer the date of the walk, attendees will be asked if they wish to partake in the meal. It may be necessary to take deposits and to decide on meal choices in advance depending on numbers attending.
