Regents Park to Alexandra Palace: the viewpoints of North London
This is an interesting urban walk featuring some of the best of London's green spaces, both formal and wild, leafy streets and several prominent viewpoints in north London.
Starting at Regents Park station we pass through the park itself, then climb onto Primrose Hill, the first of our viewpoints before entering the leafy streets of Belsize Park. We then cross the very different urban green space that is Hampstead Heath diagonally from southwest to northeast, visiting Parliament Hill, our second viewpoint. Another section of road walking follows through the leafy suburb of Highgate, then entering Highgate Wood. The last part of the walk takes us on part of the Parkland walk, which follows the route of the former Highgate to Alexandra Palace branch railway, passes the impressive bulk of Alexandra Palace itself, which is also our last viewpoint, and finally descending through gardens to the station of the same name.
