Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Llangollen, canal and Plas Newydd
A West Midlands Group day out in Wales beckons with a walk alongside the Llangollen Canal from Trevor to Llangollen visiting Thomas Telford's famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct over the River Dee before we set off. On reaching Llangollen I'll lead anyone who would like to visit the home of the 'Ladies of Llangollen' to Plas Newydd - about 15 minutes walk. Access to the grounds and cafe is free but charges apply if you wish to enter the house.
At Llangollen there will be free time to explore the town before beginning our return journey in late afternoon.
The times shown are from the start of the event at Ruabon Rail station to the probable departure time from Llangollen. The journey time to and from the event start / end point is therefore not included.
