
Pendon Museum, Long Wittenham
Pendon is a Museum of Minature Landscape and Transport depicting life in the Vale of White Horse in the 1930's. The Vale scene reproduces in miniature the beauty of the English countryside in the 1930's. Modelled cottages, farms and chalky lanes with horse drawn transport reacall the Vale of the White Horse nearly a century ago.
Roye England the founder of the museum came to England from Australia in 1925 and fell in love with he area. He realised that with the pace of change he was witnessing the end of a way of life and wanted to record this.
