One of highlights’ of this eight and a half mile figure of eight walk is the spectacular Witch’s Cauldron, a collapsed cave that forms a crater filled with greeny-blue water. The route passes along some spectacular clifftops with (weather permitting), fine sea views. We also pass unspoilt Ceibwr Bay with dramatic rock folds, once a busy port serving the local area. In the latter part of the walk, we are serenaded by the sounds of gurgling streams that run alongside lush green valleys that brings us back to the start. Trewyddel, the Welsh name for Moylegrove, where our walk starts & finishes, mean’s Irishman’s town, so your walk leader will feel very much at home here.
It is possible to make this an approx. four mile walk. Please note the area around the Witch’s Cauldron involves a steep descent and ascent, which can also be slippery, so walking poles are recommended. One stretch is also close to the edge, so there will be an alternative suggested route for those with vertigo to avoid both the steep ascent/descent and edge.
