This a stunning 6.5 mile circular walk from and to Newton, near Porthcawl, visiting Candleston Castle.  The trail travels from the historic village of Newton and across Europe's highest sand dunes on the Merthyr Mawr Warren National Nature Reserve, explores the ivy-shrouded ruins of the 14th-century fortified manor (castle), and returns along the Wales Coast Path running along the River Ogmore and the sandy beach.

A visit to a pub at the end of the walk will complete this fabulous walk.
